Foster With Us

Triangle Rabbits is a foster-based rescue. Without foster homes, we can’t help rabbits in need. Most of the rabbits in our program were surrendered to shelters, often after being left outside to fend for themselves. Foster homes give them a second chance, helping them feel safe, loved, and special.

Fostering is perfect for families who can’t commit to a pet year-round or want to see if a rabbit is the right fit. Watching a scared or neglected rabbit blossom into a happy, confident companion is incredibly rewarding. We are currently looking for foster homes in the Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill and Wilmington areas.

Open your home and heart to a foster rabbit!

A note about RHDV2: Prospective volunteers and foster homes moving to NC from a state where RHDV2 is present must wait a minimum of three months before applying to volunteer or foster. Learn more about RHDV2.

Timeline: Triangle Rabbits offers several fostering opportunities. Vacation foster homes give rabbits a temporary place to hang out while their current foster home is on vacation, usually 1-2 weeks. Most foster opportunities are 3-6 months or longer.

Supplies: You provide fresh daily greens, exercise time, and love. Other supplies can be provided including housing, litter boxes, bowls, blankets, food, hay and toys. A tax receipt can be provided upon request.

Vet Care: Basic vet care, including nail trims, are provided by Triangle Rabbits. Vet appointments must be approved in advance except in the case of an emergency.
